Full Version: Kaspersky blocking Adobe After Effects with Matrox?

I am using Adobe AfterEffects 6.5 to create some videos. It worked fine when I had Kaspersky version 6 anti-virus. I recently upgraded to Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. Now AfterEffects does not work. It loads up but as soon as I try to do anything AfterEffects disappears!

I have another PC with AfterEffects and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and it seems to work. One difference between these two PCs is that the one that does not work has a Matrox x.100 card in it for outputting video rather than just a normal firewire card.

When I look at the Kaspersky Events log I see "Process (PID xxxx) tried to access Kaspersky Internet Security process (PID xxx), but the action has been blocked by the Self-Defense component. No action on your part is necessary." (I think some action on my part is VERY necessary dash1.gif )

AfterEffects disappears even if I disable Kaspersky Internet Security. What do I need to do (other than replacing Kaspersky with a competitive program which will go unmentioned here but it starts with "Norton") to get AfterEffects to work on this machine?

Thank you,

VVV

Hi VVV,
if i was in your shoes i'll try to:

1) Set "Compatibility Mode" (Settings\Protection) then check if it works
2) if not, add your application to Trusted Zone then check if it works
3) if you're so unlucky, uninstall KIS and your application; clean your system along with Ccleaner or Regspreme (Normal mode, not Aggressive) then firstly install again KIS then AfterEffects.

Hope this helps
Bye
M.

Thanks. I tried steps 1 & 2 but that didn't help. I had reinstalled AfterEffects and that didn't help but then, I had not removed and reinstalled KIS. I think I'll try reinstalling KIS and if that doesn't work I'll go back to version 6. I sure don't want to install Norton nor McAffee.
