We have a large number of remote salespeople who do not connect to our corporate network. How will we keep track of licensing with them? Obviously, I'll be distributing the installer package with the license file embedded, but there will be no way for them to report back to the administration server. The numbers on the admin server will never be correct....

Will the clients report to Kaspersky in regards to licensing?

hello nadams,
afaik, if those machines are totally disconnected from your AK there's no way to track them. This means that if you buy a 200 seats license, from a technical point of view only (!!!!), you can register it on 500 computers or more with no problem. Moreover, they are not tracked by KL...unless your license key is added to the black list DB: in that case Kaspersky RTP won't be loaded anymore untill you provide a valid commercial key!
I'd like to point out that my sentences are strictly related to the tech point of view: legally speaking, you have to license all the machines you're working with.... rolleyes.gif

I did purchase enough licenses to have all my machines covered, including the remotes. I was just curious how that would all work. McAfee didn't track licensing at all, so it's a little different smile.gif

Technically there is no tracking. But the Sales people do come back to the office once in a while. Thats when AK will take an inventory.

A lot of our salespeople are not based out of this office, or any other with VPN connection back to this office. Therefore, their laptops are not members of our domain, nor do they connect to any of our network equipment.
