I have a question regarding the installation of Kaspersky. What are peoples preferences / best solution for the first main install of Kas Admin kit and MSDE? Put them on the same server or split them across two?

if you're thinking to install MSDE along with KAK, you should install them on the same machine...on the other side, if you're working with MS SQL you have both options: you can install both on the same machine or you can create a Kaspersky instance on the SQL server (maybe this installation already exists in your network) while KAK will be installed on another server/workstation.
PS: do not forget about MySQL!

You can also use SQL2005express instaed of MSDE.
