We've just implemented a 15 user/device license of the 6.0.3.830 software.

It's been installed on the systems using a simple policy allowing the local network to be fully trusted. Before this it was just a local network. In both configurations we cannot access a DFS (replicated) on the servers.

This DFS is normally accessed through \\domain\public

The error message is "Configuration information could not be read from the domain controller, either because the machine is unavailable, or access has been denied".

If we try to access the DFS via their shares - e.g. \\machine1\dfsfiles - it works fine.

Is there a known error? What is the best solution? This is urgent - thanks dash1.gif

Hello,

You can try to disable Anti-Hacker component and see if it helps first, check if DNS cache option is enabled too : http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279459

I'm Using version 6.0.3.803 and the server version. This option doesn't seem to exist in that version.

Any other ideas?

Can you try to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition (http://www.kaspersky.com/anti-virus_windows_server_enterprise)? But i am not sure that your license key is suitable for Enterprise version. Your key must be for BSS os ESS os TSS products

thanks for replies - you might want to explore this issue;

I've had to reinstate all DFS configurations and this now works. Before KL AV 6.0.3.803 was installed it worked fine - after installation the DFS root was corrputed and I had to delete manually. This is not for the feint hearted.

it now works and KL also works.
