I'm having problem Admin Kit. It won't see all PCs in network. @ work we have 2 groups, Standard WORKGROUP and PISS (it's not about wizzing biggrin.gif), but on both groups, some of the PC's are missing. Network (computers near me) see them all. And PC's that are found with Admin Kit, usaly half of them have pink instaed red icon beside them. All of PC's are equipped with KAV 6.0.3.830 Windows Workstations. @ work we're using static IP instead of DHCP.
So I really need help about 2 things: non-visible PC's through Admin Kit, and Pink icons on some PC's.
Thnx in advance.

Hi!

Just enter a new subnet from IP to IP to detect your machines via icmp.

the light red machines i think need some time to get the response to the AdminKit this
could be a problem of DNS or the network agent has the Servername inside the remote-instalaltion
package instead of the ip.

How to do this... ??
----------------------> To change the Name of the AdminServer into the IP in your remote-instalalltion package you've to go
into the properties of your remote insallation package and change it directly there. Afterwords you've to
re-deploy the Agent to be sure that your client (NEtwork Agent on the client) now has the IP-Address instead
of the Name!

btw: you can go to the properties of the AdminKit by clicking right mousebutton directly on adminKit and go to Network Browsing intervall,
here you can see the browse intervalls for Subnets, AD, Domain ...

Admin Kit found all PC's in network, but there is still problem with "pink" iconed PC's. Should Network Agent be installed on all PC's manually, because it cannot be done thru Admin Kit (failure)???

Which OS have this clients?

If it is XP is the firewall disabled?

What is the error message?

As Helmut said check under Xp SP2 if Firewall is disabled and the 2nd service of the firewall 'windows firewall/internet connection sharing'
and stop this service and set it also to disabled.

Another possibility you get that error is that your machines don't have the same local admin account or you try to install the remote WKS
with the standard account which is the system account and that one has to permissions in the network.

More and more problems appear.
1. I sucessfully installed network agent onto 1 PC remotely using admin kit, with admin password that is specific for that PC. And as I tried to do with other PC's, that have same user/pass for admin logon, it failed.
Tried this and that, and PC's in list disappeared, tried to recall them using IP to IP, but it couldn't find them.

2. Ok, now this is becoming really weird. I reinstalled admin kit, and and now it sees every PC axcept 2, before that 7 of them were missing, which I had to add manually, after adding those 2 and refreshed groups those 2 stayed and the others disappeared.

All computers have same admin user/pass, for administration, except 1, and all of them have same limited account name for users that R using them. PC that is used as server for Admin kit is free of any password, it's controlled by internal Admin user, the one as you freshly install win.
30 PC's that are in network, 5 of them are on Win2000SP3 and rest of them are on XP Pro SP2.

I decided to uninstall Admin kit, and use this one that supposed to be server for deploying antivirus update onto others via directory sharing.

Forgot to tell, that firewall is disabled on every PC, because of the KAV 6.0.4.830, because it has internal firewall, M$ firewall sucks biggrin.gif
