I recently upgrade MMC to version 3.0. Now when I try to open the Kaspersky Administration Kit I get the following error:

MMC cannot open the file C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\CS Admin Kit.msc.
This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may aslo be becasue you do not have sufficient access rights to the file.

I am logged in as a domain administrator and the file does exist. I tried reinstalling 6.0.1405. I then uninstalled this version and installed version 6.0.1565. Both versions give the same error.

When will Kaspersky have a version of the Administration Kit that will run with MMC version 3.0?

Hello,

Are you sure your problem is due to the upgrade of MMC to version 3.0 ?

According to the requirements, the Administration Console support Microsoft Management Console 1.2 and above.

Check if Kaspersky Administration Server service is running, restart it.

Please post logs of Kaspersky Administration Kit MMC.

Hi,

Go to Start - Run and type mmc.exe, In the opened window (Console 1) go to File - Add/Remove Snap-in, then click Add... and add "Kaspersky Administration Kit" snap-in. After this close this window saving changes and next try to launch the Console as usually, i.e. through the start menu.

hope this help..

This solved my problem too.

I did check both mmc and kaspersky admit snap in file to make sure that they haven't been modified. I've also checked that my permissions are set to read, write. Nothing was wrong but MMC just suddenly stopped working, deleting the file under my profile fixed it.

So what is causing it to behave this way? I'm curious.

We suppose there are some imcompatibilities in the msc file format between MMC 3.0 and previous versions.
