lo all

have a couple MySQL servers here at work that do circular replication and run quite nicely. they're openbsd 4.1-release machines and run mysql-server-5.0.33. i really would rather not add another MySQL install to the list of stuff i have to manage so would strongly prefer to use the existing setup than run something locally on this windows box.

during install i get the error message "Unable to connect to the selected MS SQL server" after entering the credentials for access to the MySQL server i have setup. have confirmed that the user, password and various settings in MySQL are correct since i can logon with a mysql client from another windows host. also did a tcpdump of packets going to the MySQL server from the KAK machine and see packets flowing back and forth. the machines in question are on the 10.0.0/24 subnet here.

am confused by the error message which apparently doesn't mention mysql, only mssql. advice appreciated. did see another thread where an "alpha" build allowed the mysql setup to work.

cheers,
jake

I presented the same problem recently. Check out this post, where Whizard offered a solution.
