Good Day to All,

I'm Having Problems on the installation of MSDE (msde2ksp3en.exe) of KAV, actually MSDE installation finishes but Database is not active, already re-start the services but still error/warning on the event viewer, also the machine/computer is logged and has full administration rights..
below are description of the warning of MSSQL --kaspersky in the event viewer



also attached are the created report of the installation tracing (IS.log) adminkit and MSDE

please help..

Which OS you are using?

Is it a domain or workgroup?

What is your loginname?

If I understand, there's no error message during the installation process of MSDE and Administration Kit, then I don't think we'll find information in installation log.
Is MSDE and Administration Server phisically installed on the same server ?
Is your Administration Server uptodate ? What kind of OS is installed on it ?

-YES there are NO prompt or messages on the installation of MSDE and obviously Adminkit cannot be install because it could not create Database, tried to uninstall the MSDE then reboot the PC and again install MSDE , but there are still warning on the event viewer.

-also a member of a domain..

-my log in name is administrator

-the OS is windows 2003 sp3

-system requirements are met.

-yes msde2ksp3en and kasp6.0.1405_adminkiten is installed on the same machine.. (oops adminkit is not installed yet)

-im using Remote Desktop Connection (this is the only option)

-and also there is a trend micro office scan server version 7

SP3? Only SP2 is released.

If you have W2003 R2 you need SQL 2005 Express from Microsoft.

oops sorry my bad its sp2 (i think, hehehe), well i have to double check again if its W2003 R2.. my client is out of the office right now i will post again tommorow, thanks for the help Helmut..

Here is an extract of the installation log of the Administration Server :



Perhaps your remote connection use a specific user account which have not full administrator rights to execute/install applications. Your customer should try to perform installation locally.

Hi again to all of you, well this is the specs and details of the problematic server/computer:

-i'm installing using remote desktop (XP SP2 with admin rights, this is only the computer who connect to the server)

-windows 2003 sp2

-domain member with full admin rights

-logged in as admin and log in name is administrator

-yes msde2ksp3en and kasp6.0.1405_adminkiten is installed on the same machine.. (oops adminkit is not installed yet)

-HDD space is 68gig

-2gig RAM

-Dual Core AMD opteron, processor 2214HE 2.2ghz

-and also there is a trend micro office scan server version 7
