Hi,
I have encountered the following problem on a lot of Windows XP clients running Thunderbird. When sending mails, the mail gets stuck with the message "Copying message to send folder". This sometimes takes 20 sec; other times 5 minutes. Selecting different folders can sometimes take up to a minute.
At first, I thought it was Thunderbird which was going nuts and/or the imap server. After a while of testing, it occured to me that the only change that I did was to upgrade KAV to 6.0. And sure enough, stopping KAV immediately solves all above mentioned problems.
I have re-rolled out KAV without the mail scanning module and I have disabled all ports in the network settings. Nothing seems to help though.
Has this happend to anyone else?
Kind regards,
Martin
Try to set an exclusion for the On-Demand-Scan for Thunderbird because if i remember corretly the ODS will also scan here by running a hardcoded script (but not sure!).

Can I set this in the policy? If so, where? I have tried to find the On-Demand-Scan but that does seemingly not exist.
Nice post icon BTW.

EDIT: Nevermind... Found it!

Adding thunderbird.exe to the exclusion list does not help the problem.
Surely some other Thunderbird IMAP user must have this problem?!
Thanks for any advice.

KAV for Workstations 6.0.2.690
KNA and KAK 6.0.1405
Try adding Wmiprvse.exe into your TrustedZone.

This does not help either. There must be something else interferring with the IMAP connections...?!
Have you picked every option of TrustedZone?

Please see attached screenshot. I don't know what you mean with every option.
I said TrustedZone. Not exclusions.

Well, exclusions happens to be a tab under TrustedZone. I suspect you mean trusted applications then, which is the second tab under TrustedZone.
Telling me again does not help me find/understand it...

Dear All,
I'm having a similar problem with Kaspersky IS 7 (7.0.0.124) and Thunderbird (2.0.0.6) on WinXP Pro SP2
I use an IMAP mail account and ever since installing KIS I have been unable to download any mail to my PC.
My IMAP uses secure connections for downloading mail on port 143 - but I either don't know how to or can't
get KIS to allow Thunderbird to download my mail.
Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Best wishes,
Jon.

Hi.
I have this problem too. The funny thing is, only secured connections with self signed or certs of untrusted / unknown CAs are problematic!
Checked on Windows Vista Home Basic with up-to-date Thunderbird (currently 2.0.0.9) and AntiVirus 7.0.0.123 d.
Hope this will help.
Greets from Germany.

The above suggestions made by other members did actually solve my problem. At least for XP.
Kind regards,
Martin
