I have an application which sends an packet through UCP broadcast.
It is trying to send on 255.255.255.255 IP address.
Kaspersky doesn't allow it sending out.
When I disable Kaspersky or close it, packet is still not working.
Only one way which I know to enable the communication is
disable "Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter".
I think UI of Kaspersky is not good.
I can't figure out how to enable this.
Help me, please.
Hello,
What is your product exact version?
Hello, Dear
We have 6.0.2.678 for Windows Workstation.
In addition, I'm not sure, but broadcasted message is sent successfuly.
The sender doesn't show any error, but the reciever which installed
at same machine couldn't get any packet.
If I set other IP, for example, 127.255.255.255, it works fine.
Thank you for reply and help.
Please, help us.
Post the alert of the screenshot message please.
Actually, Kaspersky doesn't show any alert or message.
Even it doesn't indicate there was an blocking action of that packet.
I suspect Anti-hacker, Anti-Spy, Proactive Defense features blocked
that packet, but there isn't any count which indicates blocking action
was completed.
The reason why I suspect Kaspersky is; when I disable the filter driver,
the communication is okay.
If it's enabled, even I closed Kaspersky, the packet is blocked.
Well yes of course those are blocked, depending on your Anti-Hacker zone configurations for particular subnets.
As I understand what you mentioned,
Zone settings will separate region into trust zone and internet.
Trust zone doesn't need filtering and application rule.(Am I right?)
Untrust zone - internet will be restriced by these rules.
Anyway, although I create a trust zone which has 255.255.255.255,
(Actually, I'm not familiar with those settings.)
it's not working.
Could you give me a example setting for zone, filtering, and application
for this communication ?
Is there any way to accomplish this communication?
Thanks. I appreciate your help.
Hello,
The zone definitions are extensively covered in the manual. That address is special in TCP/IP and reserved for broadcasts (all computers must process the packet). Therefore to allow it you will need to configure your local subnet as "Local Network" in Anti-Hacker zone settings.
