I have a 1 month old KAV protected network, 1 server 19 workstations. We have been troubleshooting 1 workstation (the owner's of course) which has been problematic. I have sent KAV log dumps and systeminfo... they have sent me a new version to try on this computer. I need to install it remotely via gotomypc however even though I told KAV not to enable self defense prior to install it has enabled itself after the initial install restart. I cannot proceed with the install since I can't browse for license or control the KAV program. Is there a registry key I can edit so I can defeat the self defense. I am unable to be onsite with this client anytime soon.

Unfortunately Self-Defense is active via a Kernel driver. Therefore a registry tweak would not do you any good. The only way to bring it down is by reloading the OS in "Safe Mode"

In the meantime I am afraid you will have to instruct your client to use 30-day trial mode.
