Hi all

Outlook 2007 has the bad habit of not responding while getting all the mail from the IMAP Server

On top of that with a big folder (5000+ messages), Outlook seems to hang on a given messge, KAV probably hangs as well and I stop having access to Outlook and to the Internet. The browser cannot connect (Even after i unchecked "San HTTP traffic on Web Antivirus

I end up having to crash Outlook and some time later KAV resumes processing traffic

This also happens with Thunderbird and Outlook Express, so it seems to me it is a KAV problem...

Also I have Outlook configured to download only Headers but it takes so long it seems it is downloading also the body! maybe KAV forces this soemhow ?

I have KAV Antivirus 6.0 for window workstations.
I Already disabled Anti Spam
My IMAP server is on the LAN so access is fast
Already applied all patches from Microsoft

What is happening here ?
Is ther anything I can do?

Thanks and Best Regards

Some follow up:

KAV creates hundreds of zero byte files in C:\

If I use FILEMON tool (Sysinternals) it keeps reporting result = "NAME COLLISION"

as I was typing this KAV changed and decided to create them in Windows\Temp

my default TEMP dir in ENV vars is in another drive (e:\temp) no such files are created here

What are these files, can i change where they are created ?

Thanks
Best Regards

Welcome on board!

If you use only Outlook 2007 as mail program, you can add outlook.exe to KAV Trusted Zone with option "Do not check traffic". KAV has anti-virus and anti-spam plugins in Outlook 2007 which have not troubles with traffic.
