I am the network admin for a small doctor’s office, running about 50 computers between 2 locations. I am currently installing V 6.0.2.678. All of our computers are Windows XP with service pack 2 and all latest updates are installed. So far I have completed installation on 15 or so machines. Of those machines, I have 3 of them that are no longer to connect to the internet. The rest installed just fine. I ran the same options every time, so everything in theory is the same. I have tracked down the problem to a problem with the DNS settings. I can type the ip address of a site and it works, the .com address does not. Everything in the network connections is correct, address ect. I read about manually restarting the DNS server, with the services.msc is telling is running already. When restarting, I am presented this message: "Could not start the DNS Service on local computer. Error 1714: No protocol sequences have been registered." As soon as I uninstall Kaspersky, everything begins to work correctly. I went through each and every setting on a working computer; screen printed each one, and went menu by menu so everything is matching. I also did the same with the network connection. Both computers matched perfectly, one works, one doesn't. Please help save my hair that I am slowly pulling out because of this. Thanks in advance.
