Hi,
I just installed admin kit 6.0, as well as the latest versions for win file server and win workstations. Now I can't get the global update task to update the av databases. I used the wizard to set up the task, but it doesn't work. It just shows the task running, and then shows "error connecting to update source" and moves to the next Kaspersky update server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS I'm running Windows SBS 2003 with ISA server 2000, and WinXP for workstations.
Hi Kirk,
To rectify the problem, clean the contents of the storage of the antivirus databases and the application modules – by default the folder Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\Share\Updates and start the Administration Server's update task once again.
check available updates.
or you can delete and create a new Administration Server update task in the Console in the Global tasks node.

Bill,
Thanks for your reply. Please forgive me, as I'm a new user of KAV.
By clean, do you mean deleting everything that is in the update folder?
I've tried deleting the global task, and creating a new one, but it still doesn't work. Here's an example of the message I get:
Running
Severity: Info
Application: Kaspersky Administration Kit
Version number: 6.0.1405
Task name: av updates
Computer: Administration Server <LOYOLA>
Group: EMPIREEXPRESSCO
Time: Friday, April 13, 2007 9:30:59 AM
Description: Error connecting to update source 'us2h.kaspersky-labs.com'. This error usually occurs when a connection is bad or unstable, or if network connection settings are incorrect. Recommendations: To troubleshoot this problem, make sure the network connection settings, update source availability, and the update source list are all correct. Then run Updater again. If the error occurs again, send the Updater trace to Technical Support to clarify the problem.
I've tried setting the properties on Kaspersky update servers to "Not Use Proxy", and as "Not Use Proxy" deselected. On LAN settings, I've tried it with "use proxy server" not selected, having my "use proxy server" selected without "proxy server authorization" selected, and having my "use proxy server" selected with "proxy server authorization" selected.
So I think I've tried all combinations of properties and LAN properties selected.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kirk
Hi Kirk,
check if the computer has an internet connection, also check if ur using a proxy server when connecting to the ineternet.
delete the update folder of kaspersky. by default the folder Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\Share\Updates.
check the all available update
restart kaspersky adminkit or just restart your pc
then update..
if problem still occurs you may want to uninstall and reinstall.
regards,
bill
ps.
<LOYOLA>??? u filipino? hehehehe!!
Thre is definitely a bug in the updater. It does not seem to recognize direct connections to the internet (even though the rest of the program does work well). One workaround that did the trick for me: run privoxy or multiproxy, and set the update settings to use them.

Since an update completed on 12/1/2008 my Kasp Administrative database has been unable to update as above with the same error. I have deleted the files as above without resolution. Thoughts?
