Can not access console after opening on remote pc during a dameware NT session. Latest version of Dameware AND Kav 6.

The problem with remote tools is always the same... most of them have/use an own account so setup the connection and this account is your remote login account and not the admin account inside.

Other problem can be the XP Firewall - if you diable it but your machine has a bluetooth oder wlan-card there's still running a service called 'windows firewall/internetconnection sharing" which blocks access. just end and disable this service. you can also use Xp-antispy for doing this.

I didn't mean the admin console, I meant the worksation user interface.

Problem was not their on kav 5 and has nothing to do with remote tool logon account as I can hit the machine fine and access any program, but when I click the K in task bar and console pops up, I can not access it.

Only Remotedesktop works OK, KAV selbstprotection blockt all remote Programms.
Turn this one off and try again.

That is not the problem as I have no issue with the remote other then being able to access the local KAV control panel once I open it.

Same thing happens on File server edition.

As Peskind said, turn off the Self Protection and you'll be able to access the local KAV just like you were sitting there.
In the Kaspersky Admin kit, open the PC’s properties, go to the Applications tab, and double click the AV line. Go the Properties and in the drop down, select Service. Uncheck the Enable Self-Defense option. It will take a few seconds for the change to propagate to the PC, but once it does, you can control Kaspersky locally just like you were sitting there. Just remember to turn the option back on when you’re done. It should come back on automatically on the next reboot, but you never know when that will be.
I wouldn’t suggest turning this option off permanently. The Self-Defense does more than just keep us from accessing the window in Dameware.

Thank you, Peskind, for leading me to the answer! I've been annoyed by this one for over a year!
