we have some troubles using Kav for Windows WorkStation V 5.0.712 and Microsoft Visual Source Safe 6.0.
Our vss db is accessed thru a wan interface and vss use microsoft netbios to access it.
Vss is very slow until we disable the real time protection.
Disabling real time protection give us a performance boost of 30% on every platform despite its processor type or memory size.
Adding to process esclusions the executable of the program has no effects on performances and we don't want to disable the whole network disk protections.
Any ideas?

VSS needs to read&write the database folder intensively. Disabling the protection of the database folder will definitely help.
