Full Version: Kaspersky causing DEP errors & blue screens?

Hello,

I have an AMD X2 system with windows XP Pro. SP2 installed.

I had Kaspersky 6.0.1.411 installed for a couple of month and out of no where it started causing a bunch of Data Exectution Errors to the point that I can not use the system.

I have already tried to switch off DEP from the boot.ini file with no luck. I even formated my drive and reinstalled Windows, everything was fine until I installed Kaspersky. My fresh installation of Windows with SP2 blue screened right after I installed Kaspersky on boot up.

Whats worse is that now that I have uninstalled Kaspersky I still get DEP errors. For exapmple when i boot my system i get a DEP error on Microsoft Help and Support Center, Wundows Logon UI, Windows Installer, WMI.

I have already looked through the forum and tried the post which says to delete a xml file from a directory in Kaspersky dir.

Any suggestion?

I should add that after a fresh install of windows, when i install Kaspersky after the reboot after install i get so many DEP errors I can't even go into any application to see whats wrong sometimes.

What information does the BSOD contain?
Have you tried to enable the compatibility mode under settings->service (reboot afetrwards)

I have not tried compatibility mode, will do that now.

After install my default settings make the BSOD reboot straight away so I didn't have a chance to catch it. But that has only happened once after the first install on this particular instatance, 90% of my problem are the DEP errors I keep getting no matter what settings I have DEP settings on in System Properties.

I have been reading in the forum about compatibility issues with certain firewalls...could it be my motherboard which has an nvidia chipset which has 'Active Armor' firewall built in? The drivers are installed but the firewall itself is disabled.

you should try updating your nvidia drivers to the latest and uninstall the software part of the firewall (network access controller or what it's called)

Hello Kevin,

I think I am having the same problem on an Intel 630 system. Have done all the things you have done, plus replaced the power supply. I have not deinstalled Kaspersky to see of that helps. How did your problem resolve itself?

Do you have a Logitech QuickCam with QuickCam Software installed? 'Cause I had the same problem when installing Kaspersky & QuickCam software...! I was not able to solve that problem neither...
