Hi there.

We have Kaspersky workstation 5.0 for windows deployed to our users and i have a user that has a problem with real-time protection. We are using POP3 for our e-mails. Please keep in mind that this is a remote user. The user is unable to receive e-mails when Kaspersky real-time protection is on, and it takes very long to launch applications. When real time protection is turned off everything seems to be working fine. Removing the software and re-installing it, did not have any effect on the issues. The error that the user receives is "The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or ISP provider".
We changed the settings to "High-Speed", but still no luck. Removing and re-installing the software had no effect either.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Do you have others security products installed on this computer? What about before Kaspersky Lab Anti-Virus?

What version (5.0.X) of Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations have you installed?

No other security programs are installed. Before Kaspersky we used to have Trend Micro but the software has been removed.
We are running version 5.0.712 of Antivirus for Windows Workstations.

Thanks,

It seems that one or several application installed on this computer are in conflict with real time protection of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows WKS.

It can be some elements (files, registry keys) of Trend Micro which are still present on the computer after uninstallation process (check that).

You should disable all program that are launched with operating systems except KAV using msconfig.exe utility and then you will be able to determine the origin of the problem.
