Hello

Our company is a small one (~15 PCs). We have purchased a small-business pack with which we have covered all of our pcs and the 2 servers we have. The setup for accessing the internet is the following:

A local network, on which all PCs exists. On that network, a pc exists (let's name it INET) which has a proxy server on it (non-ms) for www, ftp and media streaming. The INET pc (a simple Win2K workstation) has 2 network cards, one on the local network and one on a DSL router (Zyxel) with firewall on it. On the INET pc, we currently have KAV 5.x and another vendor's firewall. We are thinking of replacing INET's setup with KIS6.

Before proceeding with any change, i thought of researching a little, so i'd like to ask some questions, having in mind the situation as is now (KAV 6 has not been released yet).

Is this setup (KAV and a firewall on the proxy and KAV on the PCs) enough? Does it really help having an antivirus and a firewall on a proxy which is behind a router/firewall? Would it be better if KIS was loaded on the PCs instead of KAV?

When KAV6 will be released, what would be a good solution for our setup?

Thanks in advance for any answers to my questions.

i think you need use Workstation 6.0 wich is soon released(on february).
this way allow you centralised administration. and, cost much less money than 15 KAV license.

about protection -- i think it will be enought;)

Thanks for the reply. We are already using the Admin Kit for centralized management and i certainly prefer that from having KIS in every PC and have to configure it manually.

So, is it better to install KIS on the proxy or wait for KAV6 to be released? KAV6 will not have a firewall, right?

no, it have=) by default, disabled.

wks is very close on fuctionality to KIS.
