Hello
blink.gif

Downloaded and used kaspersky anti-virus trial for 30 days. I went back to your site and purchased 1 yr license and attempted to install it - (asked to close kaspersky appl). When I tried to close or uninstall (add/remove progs) it kept asking me for a password. I didn't remember setting up a password for the trial version.. and now I can't install the program I purchased unless it is closed! Appreciate assistance on how to uninstall / reset ? password in order that I can install my paid license version of the software!!

Thanks smile.gif

Hello
Please don't hijack topics.
Here is information on how to reset the password http://www.kaspersky.com/faq?chapter=186528170&qid=187806813
btw you don't need to uninstall the trial version, you can acitvate it with the code to gain the full version.

I know and understand you are a newbie, that's just for the record: your hijacking the thread, as your issue is not the same as the original poster's. smile.gif
Did the procedure described there worked?

Hi tennbabe99 & welcome

Or do this:

Boot into safemode and uninstall Kaspersky, you can also use this tool while in safemode:

1. Download KisKav6Remove.zip .

2. Make a folder called Kav 6.0 on the desktop and unzip KisKavRemove into this,, then uninstall Kaspersky, reboot into safemode and run the tool (doubleclick on "avp_remove.cmd" for the 6.0 tool), reboot. Only works if installed in the default c:\ location with windows!

3. Now boot into normalmode and install Kaspersky again.

Safemode:
QUOTE
If Windows XP is the only operating system installed on your computer, booting into Safe Mode with these instructions.
If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power
Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
When you are finished with all troubleshooting, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would.

To use the System Configuration Utility method
Close all open programs.
Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and click OK
The System Configuration Utility appears, On the BOOT.INI tab, Check the "/SAFEBOOT" option, and then click OK and Restart your computer when prompted.
The computer restarts in Safe mode.
Perform the troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode.
When you are finished with troubleshooting in Safe mode, open MSCONFIG again, on the BOOT.INI tab,  uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK to restart your computer
