Updated to patch "a". Update = 12,4 mb aprox.

After patch updated, KIS2011 asked me to restart, I answer yes, but the system didn't restart automatically, Reboot manually.
I review: is a "service" restart only, not a O.S. restart dash1.gif . But then don´t appears the "a", restarting the os appears the "a"

Update databases manually, bases of 28/05/2010, show Obsolete bases message (I think normal beta server databases (old databases)).
Switch back to standard update servers after applying the patch and update without problem, now say updated.

Restart the OS is not necessary. After installing the patch, you can return to the release server updates.

I see and understand, but if KIS2011 are asking You to restart the service and Your answer is Yes ... I didn't saw a restart of the service ...

Maybe better not to ask, and only show the message that You can reboot the system manually or later ...

KIS 11.0.0.232, Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Updated from http://dnl-test.kaspersky-labs.com/test/ap/. Update size was 14.4 MB

1. Service part of application restarted OK. It means patches can be applied without restart. Good work KL!
2. Several known problems related to Application Control and Application Activity are still there, especially connected to internet.
3. Update obsolete solved. It seems that KIS suppresses the popup (instead of solving the exact problem) because it appears for short time and then KIS shows everything is OK.
4. Web AV still tries to show URL (which is incomplete) instead of threat detected. It was much better in KIS 2010.
harlan4096
Agree ...

Problems with Exclusions ... I added exclusions and if I click on "Fix It now" stills remains asking to add and never turns into green ...

Aplication Control window still takes so long to open ...

No problems so far with this patch.

But it still doesn't solve some of the most annoying and confusing bugs:
1.) unable to work with any "list view" cause opening lasts a long time
2.) Hips Database seems to have still some errors (Igor Pavlov author of Firefox etc.)

Any prospects to fix it before a mass release?

Nothing to report out of the ordinary so far.
Did not see any issues with updating - unloading of process as mentioned for others.

No problems with the patch here, however I haven't really seen those issues which were fixed (although I can't know if I've got some of those crashes).

Did you play with the Widget at all?
Seems loading of the sanbox via the right side of the widget will load, but after it is closed and reopened, whilst doing a lot of mouse clicking/functions - with a ps/2 plugged mouse, the window for sandbox has trouble loading.

It didn't load until I selected KIS in the main menu again? Do you want some reference/traces if I can?

I for example have an "old" patch "a".

Just install the new patch "a" over the existing patch a. On my computer it worked perfectly. Restart is required.

Installed patch a on my Win7 x64. So far it is OK, but problems I described here are still present:

http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showt...4850&st=160

see posts 171-175, and 178.

In short: I have dual boot with 2 Win7 x64 installations - one is for normal use, another one for testing etc. When I run scan from my system which I generally use (c:) on partition D: which contains my test system, KIS detects multiple threats: hidden object multi generic (see picture). For details please see posts mentioned above, traces are also in post 178 above!

I hope this will also be fixed in CF1!

i don't have the update log cause i uninstalled KIS!
anyway, to understand what happened here is what i did exactly:
1)uninstalled KIS 2011 build 232(with the previous patch a installed)
2)restarted the pc
3)installed KIS 2011 build 232
4)updated from regular servers
5)restarted the pc
6)updated from http://dnl-test.kaspersky-labs.com/test/ap/
7)at 99% system froze
8)reset the pc
9)uninstalled again KIS cause i thought it was a bad installation problem
10)restarted the pc
then i repeated steps from 3-6 and update completed
15)restarted the pc for the (a) letter to show up
16)updated from regular servers as per instructions
17)restarted again and now it is working fine!
note: all uninstallations were done with kavremvr 1.0.125

If you want i can try to reinstall a few times KIS with the same steps to see if the problem will reoccur again!!

Where is the update log located? I am running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. I looked under C:\Program Data\Kaspersky Lab but couldn't find anything there.

Initial test with a fresh installer in Win 7 x 64 would suggest so, the software is more responsive though the installation and update...
...including the update bar of Hostsman being green again, not red as is the case with patch 'a' installed.
However I think more testing is needed to make it conclusive.
The application rules are still not working correctly, the same 2 prompts for the installer and the software alert
yet they both are still in low trusted after, so it maybe just highlighting the problem with patch 'a' installed, not creating a new problem.
