Just upgraded 50 workstations to KAV 6.0.4.1212. All are fully patched - either Win XP Pro SP3 or Win 2000 SP4.

Some PC's are so slow that they are unusable - Eg. Adding a page break in MS Word takes 2 minutes.

I've reinstalled KAV 6.0.0.4.1212 without the NDIS filter and performance is great again.

I would like to do this to all 50 pc's but do not understand what NDIS filter does and if it is safe to remove.

Can anybody offer help please?

Thanks for the reply. I was aware of this article but it is so technical I'm afraid I am struggling to understand to real world implications of installing KAV without the NDIS filter.

I am trying to find out how much this compromises security.
