I replaced it. why worries me as I have a virus on the other computer I am struggling with.
used rescue disc on the other computer and updated, ran all I could to clear all and ran it again through all the external drives as well but it was back that night.
Now problems with the lap top loosing the program.
I have not rebooted as micro soft is just going to reboot in anycase but wanted to send this message before that.
