Full Version: Updated Network Agent, now Anti-spam is asking me to configure

I have a number of workstations with MP3 installed, and these have the anti-spam module installed, but the policy disables it from running.

I have now set the workstations to have the Network Agent v8 installed automatically, and this seems to have upgraded the current agent fine. But now when users run Outlook, they are asked if they want to configure Anti-Spam.

* How is this possible when the Anti-spam is disabled, and in fact when you go to the anti-spam features in Outlook they are still disabled.

* Why would updating the network agent prompt the user to configure the 'disabled' anti-spam when they run Outlook? I've not updated the AV to MP4 yet, just the agent.

I've checked the Network agent policy, the Network agent package, and even my MP3 and MP4 policys, and nowhere is Anti-spam enabled.

As we've never used anti-spam in KAV, I've got a feeling i'm going to have a lot of calls asking me what this new message is when they login to Outlook in the morning. mad.gif

Did you create (convert) the policy for MP3 in your new AdminKit?

AntiSpam is not included in the policy for Network Agent.

I'm already getting calls asking what it is. I'm just telling them to click No to not configure anti-spam.

All the policys and tasks were converted automatically, including the Network Agent policy. I've got both MP3 and MP3 policies and tasks.

All I've updated on my clients are the network agents from v6 to v8. I used the Automatic Installation option on the folder containing my workstations, and selected the Network Agent (8.0.2048) package.

Because the users are still running the previous Workstations 6 mp3 version, they should still take the existing policies. It looks like they are still taking the right policies because the Anti-spam is still disabled. But they are now asked to configure the disabled anti-spam for some reason.

Anyone? Maybe it's time to give K Support a call.
