Hi, we have deployed Administration Kit 8 and started to roll out Workstation 6.0.4.1212 to some of our desktops. Suddenly some users are receiving license expire warnings.
Exactly the same license file expires on some workstation while on other it is still valid until next year. The license according to our record and Kaspersky support group only expires next year.
Now half of our workstations are displaying warnings.. this was not an issue on previous Workstation version and Administration kit 6
Go into Repositories and Licenses. Check the checkbox for install license automatically.
Already selected, we also created a task to deploy the license key again, runs successful however still shows that the license expires.

Added a screenshot of two workstations running from the sam Admin server, same license is intalled, however one expires and one not.
Please check system date from this clients.

Please check system date from this clients.
All the workstations in this domain are synced via Windows Time (NTP), all are confired for namibian timezone
It's almost the same by me!
Last week I've installed Admin Kit 8 on the server and NA 8.0.2048 on clients (running KAV 6.0.3.837). After the new Admin Kit was installed onto the clients always send messages, that they can't update because of the licence verification failed. However on the computers details it displays the correct dates.
Another problem but maybe there is a coherence:
Since the Admin Kit 8 install it can't download updates and turns back with this error message:
Failed
Severity: Error
Application: Kaspersky Administration Kit
Version number: 8.0.2048
Task name: Download updates task
Computer: Administration Server <THEIA>
Group: Managed computers
Time: 2009. október 19. 16:09:47
Description: Error retrieving update task settings. This error usually occurs when account for the task has insufficient privileges to access aplication configuration settings or application configuration settings error occured (for example, installation error). Recommendation: Check account privileges and run task again. If the error occurs again, send the Updater trace to Technical Support to clarify the problem.
The account I specified is a domain admin account so the permission issue is impossible.
There is a proxy server in the intranet and after the Admin Kit reinstall, the proxy server settings was successfully restored from the previous backup.
Any idea ?
About this error, try to delete this task and create a new one. Does it help ?
It seems a "factory" integrated task, I've never created this before. Under Kaspersky Administration Tasks I can't find how to create a new task. Should I make this under Tasks for specific computers ? In the task creation wizard there's no choice to download updates for Administration Kit.
This is a group update task, which should be under the "Managed computers" node in the "Group tasks" menu. This task should be left there, as it is a recurrent task which should be applied for all managed computers every X hours.
Yes! As you show me, this task fails too. But this task is for clients scheduled When new updates are downloaded to the repository. However the client computers update task mustn't fail, because of they don't find any update in repository. I think it should be easy to detect the error of clients update when I can fix the issue of Admin Kit's update task.
Ok then under the "Tasks for Kaspersky Administration Kit" menu delete the update task and create a new one. Define proxy settings, run this task to download all the necessary into the repository and check if the same error still occurs.
That's what I described above: there's no choice to create update task for Admin Kit (or I can't find that). See attached pictures!
You cannot create 2 update tasks of this type under "Kaspersky Administration Tasks" so you need to delete the existing one (the one marked as failed) and then you'll be able to create a new one.
Oh yes! After deleting the old task the Create new task option doesn't appear in the main window, but on the left you can make this with a right click on the title (Kaspersky Administration Tasks) and select New->Task : ) Creating a new task with the same settings solved the problem. I had to make this with the clients update task and it works as well !! Since that I have not received any error messages about wrong licences !!!
Thank you very much Tybilly !
But what could cause this problem ? The migrate between the Admin Kit versions ?

But what could cause this problem ? The migrate between the Admin Kit versions ?
You're welcome

I guess the migration is the root cause of this failure, because there are similar cases on the forum. I hope that developers have investigated this issue and already found the reason of it because it's quite critical.
I hope this will help for kobus too. Nice to see the progress bar while the server is downloading fresh signatures : )
thanks again !

We have found the problem on our side, our software house supplied us with keys with the wrong dates etc (they also do not know how it was possible), however they generated new keys and everthing seems to be fine again.
thks

Kaspersky helpdesk told me that you need to put the tick in the same as you guys I get license expired. So I told them this, they asked for my key, they said they look good and to take the tick out off the install automatically. Did that and then the PCs tell me that the AV needs to be validated. Told kaspersky that and they said to add your key to the AV MP4 file.
to find out go to the repository/installation packages right click on the MP4 file and click properties and then click the License tab. If the box that is to the left of the select button is empty license in not attached. Press select and goto where your keys are kept and select the correct one. The license is now attached but the only problem is you have to reinstall the AV again.
Hope this helps
