I have been getting a popup box that says Fatal error on the title bar and unable to create an instance of the file proxy. I just got it when adding a file to an email in Outlook. Previously I would get this when downloading files in Firefox, IE and Chrome. If I shut off Kaspersky the errors stop.

How do I troubleshoot this?

Is an entry in event log?

You can trace by opening "Kaspersky Anti Virus" then under "support" and "Traces". Change the value from 500 to 300 (debug) and try to reproduce the failure.

Don´t forget the set the trace level back to 500.

I searched further for the exact error after getting it to occur again and found many references to uninstalling Macromedia Homesite causing this exact error.

Since nothing else comes up in search with this error which is

and I uninstalled Homesite just a few days ago I am going to believe it is related (DUH). Plus I was able to make it happen with Kas running......

So thank you but I am going to look at the much more likely culprit and leave KAS alone as it seems to be innocent here. If need be though I will check the error using debug as you kindly pointed out.
