We are currently using the administrator kit version 6.0.1710 and are ready to make the upgrade to 8.0.2048. I checked and the database that is installed is MSDE 2000. I would like to know what are the steps to move to 2005 express? I have the migration instructions the I found posted other places in the forums but I am not sure if I need to remove ver 6 and MSDE before installing 8 or can I just remove MSDE and if so will I loose any of the tasks and settings that I currently have setup.

Thanks for you help.

Hello,

The first important step is to save all data (which are stored in MSDE) of your current Administration Server.
Then you can remove all applications (AK6 + MSDE), and install the new version of AdminKit 8.0 which already includes SQL 2005 Express Edition. The last task to perform is to restore the backup from your 'old' server and you're done.
I guess that's what the migration guide describes.
