I've upgraded my Admin kit to v8, and experimenting with the new network agent and worksation MP4.
The new v8 Network agent deployed fine, but my update task to install KAVW6 MP4 failed.

The reason is failed?

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations Setup cannont be perfromed, because some third-party application is already installed on the host: ALWIL Software Avast 4.0. To run the installation please remove third-party software using Microsoft Windows tools.

I don't, and have never had, Avast on my work PC. We had trend before Kaspersky, and that was removed and i've had KAVWS6 since March.

Anyone any clues why this is coming up? Or how I can get round this?

Try to run this tool: Avast Uninstall Utility.

Odd.

I ran the uninstall tool. I couldn't choose which Avast program I had, as I didn't have any. I couldn't choose the installation folder for my avast product, as I didn't have any. I just clicked uninstall, and now it seem to have completed the task. I just need to restart to see if it's ok.

You only need to remove the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ALWIL in the registry and it will work.
