Quick question (for now). Should Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Server Enterprise Edition only be installed on a 2008 Server, or can it be installed on 2003 servers as well?? It seems to be working on the '03 server, but the option to open the Kaspersky Anti-Virus Console is grayed out.

Also, on the 2008 Server that Kaspersky Anti-Virus Enterprise Edition is installed on (installed through the Kaspersky 6.0 Administrator Kit), the Anti-Virus Console seems much more elaborate than the older console. Is this by design, or did I possibly install this incorrectly?

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Helmut
You can use this version on a system with 2003.

This design looks like Version 5.x. But its ok.

Did you install the MMC for FS-EE?

Helmut,

Thank you for the response. I am currently already using WSEE MP2 (Build 6.0.2.555). Installed on my 2008 Server, all seems well (except for the "elaborate" AV Console, but I'm sure that's by design). Installed on a 2003 server (same build), the anti-virus seems to be working fine, but the anti-virus console (accessible via the taskbar tray icon) is grayed out. Just curious why this is the case.

Also, not sure what you mean by installing the MMC for FE-EE? Do you mean on the 2003 server?? The installation setting for the 2008 Server and the 2003 Server were exactly the same, which is why I'm curious about why the console isn't available via the taskbar tray icon.

Thanks again,

Usually, the 'local' console for WSEE is never installed automatically.

Just execute the setup file of install package of the WSEE on the corresponding 2003 server and choose administrative tools (or sth. similar) for installation. After this, you should be able to open local MMC for configuring the WSEE.

Sounds good, thank you. Again, I don't think this is a huge deal, as I have policies set up on the Admin Kit for all settings. The only other instance of WSEE I have installed is on a 2008 server, and the "local" console is available. I did nothing different in the install process.

Thanks again!

I have installed the "administrative tools " only on one server. It's a mmc so you can connect from
one server to all others running WSEE. Normally you only use the Administration Kit for day to day use.
