Full Version: Firewall Error (Error code: 80000057) [Merged]

I've got Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, and i've just installed it. Now, every time I load Kaspersky up it says...

So, I tried using the 'Application repair' program with Kaspersky which it asks me to do, and it goes through things, seeming to do something, and then tells me to restart, but when I restart, it just comes back to the same old thing saying that there is an error.

I've also had problems installing .NET Framework, and so i'm not sure if Kaspersky firewall requires it or not.

If you have an idea, please share it with me. Thankyou.

This is with XP? Have you tried the system file checker (sfc /scannow and have the CD ready, if needed)? it sounds more like a Windows problem, in particular, the installer. Just a thought.
Foran
Windows XP, yes, and I only just restarted my computer, recovery or whatever its called, and I had Kaspersky on before that for about half a year and I never had this problem.

Please create gsi sysinfo text, and then upload it to this parser site: http://gsi.kaspersky.fr/ and then post the link to the GSI report which may identify issue area, instructions see: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=36444 Please use the New 4.0 GSI utility. If Vista, right click getsysteminfo.exe and select Run as administrator.

Restarting and Recovery are vastly different. Recovery involves setting the machine back to factory settings and is almost a reinstall. In addition to the sfc /scannow, you should proceed it with a disk check - chkdsk /f /v on your local hard drive (usually c:). What made you do a recovery (the assumption is that you reinstalled Kaspersky because it was removed by the recovery)? Am I right or wrong?

There is the report.

I don't understand what you mean by /scannow, explain if you can pelase.

And what made me do the recovery was because my computer wouldn't start up properly.

Evidence of malware infection shows up in the GSI report. Please attach the zipped virusinfo_syscure.zip; instructions, see: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=678334

I saw that it said my Kaspersky was a lower version than the newest one, so I did a manual download of the update and installed it, and it seems to have worked now. I'll message back if anything changes.

Thanks to everyone who helped! Much apprechiated!

Hello!

This is a problem thats just started happening, and basiclly, between every 30 seconds - 1 minute my computer will freeze up for about 5-10 seconds, and when I have my Task Manager open when I do this, it shows that it goes to around 90 percent and then freezes. When it comes out of this phase it shows 100 percent for a second and then goes back down to 1-5 perecent like normal.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? It's irritating the **** out of me and I can't play my video games or watch movies.

Please reply back if you have any ideas. Thanks alot.

Please state if it is the same PC as last time.

If yes, follow the instructions in post #7: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?s=&am...t&p=1111378

If no, then post the gsi report link.
Foran
Same computer. Thanks for the quick response.

EDIT: For the executing the script step if thats what you want me to take, I need a script? Where do I get that?
Foran
Done.

Here is the report: http://www.getsysteminfo.com/read.php?file...0fd7aaf2aa89795

Thanks again

I thought I mentioned that if it is the same PC, to follow the instructions in post #7.

Post #7 was the first request for the avz.zip.

Post #10 was the second request.

This post is the third request.

Please attach the zipped virusinfo_syscure.zip; instructions, see: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=678334

Please click the link. It does not say to upload the zip to the parser site. smile.gif

Attach the zip. Please do not upload the zip to the parser site.

Please just attach the zip.

Uploaded and attatched to this file.

It was strange, after creating the report it restarted my computer like it said but then my computer would turn on and just go to a blank, black screen. So, I went to bed quite angry as it was 4:00 in the morning and woke up today to find it was working again so that was slightly odd.

Thanks.

Run this script, instructions: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=678368 PC will reboot:
CODE
begin
SetAVZGuardStatus(True);
SearchRootkit(true, true);
QuarantineFile('D:\autorun.inf','');
QuarantineFile('J:\autorun.inf','');
DeleteFile('J:\autorun.inf');
DeleteFile('D:\autorun.inf');
BC_ImportDeletedList;
ExecuteSysClean;
BC_Activate;
RebootWindows(true);
end.

After run script, attach a Combofix log, please review and follow these instructions carefully.

Before Saving combofix to Desktop, please rename combofix to something like 123.exe to stop malware from disabling it.

Now, please make sure no other programs are running, close all other windows and pause Kaspersky (right click the K icon and click pause protection > Choose the
option "resume manually" if still active) until after the scanning and removal process has taken place.

Please double click on the file you downloaded. Follow the onscreen prompts to start the scan.
Once the scanning process has started please DO NOT click on the Combofix window or attempt to use your computer as this can cause the scanning process to stall.
It may take a while to complete scanning and this is normal.

You will be disconnected from the internet and your desktop icons/toolbars will disappear during scanning, do not worry, this is normal and it will be restored after
scanning has completed.

Combofix will create a logfile and display it after your computer has rebooted. Usually located in c:\combofix.txt, please attach it to your next post. Also, please don't
forget to resume the Kaspersky that you paused.

Download Combofix here -> http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

Done.

Thanks.

Run this one:
CODE
begin
CreateQurantineArchive('c:\quarantine.zip');
end.

A file called quarantine.zip should be created in C:\. Then please zip up C:\qoobox\quarantine and upload both it and C:\quarantine.zip to a filehost such as http://rapidshare.com/
Then, Private Message me the Download link to the uploaded file. Click my user name and select Send message. Lastly, uninstall Combofix by: pause Kaspersky > Start > run >
type combofix /u > ok. Or Start > run > type 123 /u > ok. Restart Kaspersky.

Also, if you use Windows System restore, turn it off > reboot. This to remove malware from system volume information files. Then turn system restore back on, if you wish. How to turn it off/on: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279208

Also, scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Update it first, scan and attach its log, but Please Don't fix anything yet, until the log is reviewed.

Here is the log:

Fix what Malwarebytes detects, and then if you use Windows System restore, turn it off > reboot. This to remove malware from system volume information files. Then turn system restore back on, if you wish. How to turn it off/on: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279208

If your original issue persists, then uninstall Kaspersky > reboot > re install Kaspersky > reboot.
