I have had some serious problems with the server the Admin Kit is on. Yesterday I installed Admin Kit 8.0 and updated the clients to MP4. I attempted to update the servers to MP4 as well, but so far every attempt on the Admin server has failed (it seems to have been successful on the other server, but I have not had a chance to reboot it yet). I have gotten three different kind of error messages. The first was "General Error", then "You must restart the computer first" and finally "Fatal error during installation". The server I am running the Admin Kit on (Server 2003R2) starting acting up while I was looking at this forum yesterday, trying to figure out why the deployment was not going forward. It eventually locked up and I had to do a hard shut down. I wouldn't restart properly, and after 5 or 6 attempts I finally got logged in and found what I think is the problem. I noticed that avp.exe is being continually launched as a process until my resources are exhausted and the computer can no longer function. There were over 200 processes when I figured out what was happening and Paused Protection.

6.0.3.387 is the current version, which has been installed for maybe 6 weeks without any issues.

You install Kaspersky for WorkStations or for Servers?
David Waldmann
I installed WorkStation version on WorkStations and Server on Servers.

Well I don't know what happened, but I re-deployed MP4 on the Admin Server while KAV was stopped and it installed fine.
