Full Version: NDIS filter in WKS 6.0.4.1165

With version 6.0.3.830, we had problems with the NDIS filter causing some XP clients to lose connectivity. KAV gave us a command line to use that included /pNOKLIM5=1 to install KAV without the NDIS filter. I have tried that with version 6.0.4.1165 and the command line doesn't work. I am worried we will have network connectivity issues when upgrading to 6.0.4.... Anyone know how to install the new WKS version without NDIS filter or is it required now?

I know that you can disable this in the properties of the installation package.

For the local installation I must check this.

You can define this in setup.ini.

DESCRIPTION OF SETUP .INI FILE SETTINGS
The setup.ini file located in the directory of Kaspersky Anti-Virus installation package, is used when installing the
application in non-interactive mode from the command line or Group Policy Object editor. This file includes the following
settings:
[Setup] – general settings for application installation.
• InstallDir=<path to application installation folder>.
• Reboot=yes|no – defines whether the computer should reboot when the application installation is complete, or
not (reboot does not run by default).
• SelfProtection=yes|no – defines if Kaspersky Anti-Virus Self-Defense should be enabled during the installation
(Self-Defense is enabled by default).
• NoKLIM5=yes|no – defines if the installation of Kaspersky Anti-Virus network drivers should be cancelled at the
application installation (drivers are installed by default). Kaspersky Anti-Virus network drivers of NDIS type,
which intercept the network traffic for such application components as Anti-Hacker, Mail Anti-Virus, Web Anti-
Virus, and Anti-Spam, may cause conflicts with other applications or devices installed on the user's computer.
You can skip the installation of network drivers on computers running under Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft
Windows 2000 to avoid probable conflicts.
This option in not available on computers running under Microsoft Windows XP x64 Edition or Microsoft Vista.

Thanks for the help. I don't see setup.ini in the RC download. Do I have to create a package from the Admin Kit to create the setup.ini?

I have seen this and I am in contact with Support from KL to clarify this. The Install.ini is included in the package.

If you create an installation package you can disable the installation of the NDIS-Filter in the properties of this package and you don´t need the setup.ini.

See my first post.
