I recently purchased 12 licenses of Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 for a branch-office in my company and it's working well.

Today morning, one of our company managers (in the company headquarters) laptop got infected with something called "Total Security 2009" (or something that sounds like that) It is something that pretended to be an anti-virus and refused to let you do anything with the system. And it kept on reporting 'viruses'.

It was impossible to anything with the system. Even booting in Safe mode didn't work. I tried to copy over the trial version of Kaspersky I had onto the system, but I couldn't install it.

Some googling (with another laptop) later, I downloaded HijackThis!, renamed it to "explorer.exe" and somehow killed "Total Security 2009".

After that I managed to install Kaspersky. I did a full system scan before restarting the system. It cleaned it out and my manager is happy. smile.gif In fact, he was talking about getting it installed everywhere. If nothing else, he's going to buy a full license!

I had to share this story. Thanks !

Dear Abrahamv

Who ever uses a security system apart from “The Great Kaspersky” will get infected. I sometimes make joke with mates that my kaspersky internet security even sometimes cleans my house. There are very good products in market both for home users and workstations but I am sure “The well deserved honourable kaspersky” is the best.

People in kaspersky lab team are so good and genius that they made kaspersky as a “security of next decade” available for today. I believe Microsoft should make a deal with kaspersky and use Kaspersky as a default security system for all types of OS that they make and increase the price by about 15-20 unit of currency in each country to pay it to kaspersky, in this way infection by online viruses, phishing, and so on will never be the case anymore.
