Hi! I'm new to this forum so I hope I'm doing this right. Although I've searched through the forum, I couldn't find the answer to my question.

I am interested in purchasing Kaspersky 2010 and noticed that the license is valid for up to 3 PCs. Although all of my PCs run Windows XP, one of them is in the English language version and the other two are in the Japanese language version (XP was pre-installed on both laptops which were bought in Japan).

My question is, if I purchase Kaspersky 2010, will the license work on all three PCs? If it does work, how would l go about getting both the English language version and the Japanese version? Or am I out of luck and must buy two versions of Kaspersky separately? T_T

Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to answer my question! ^^

It will work.
You are buying a license and not the box itself. Just download the local version and use the license you bought

Thank you so much for the fast response (and I am so embarrassed that I posted to the wrong forum! sorry!).

This is great news! I am glad to hear that the license means exactly what it is, regardless of the different languages with the OS.

Thank you so much again!

Update: I don't know if this changed anything, but I went to the US site to download the English version and noticed that only the 2010 version of Kaspersky is available. There are options to purchase a license for 1 PC or 3 PC and so forth.

However. on the Japanese site, only the 2009 version is available. I guess the 2010 release isn't out yet.

I'm guessing that the 2010 license code is not going to be valid for the 2009 version and that there is no way to download a 2010 Japanese version as of this time. Is there any way to get the 2009 version from the US website or those are only being sold by retailers now?

Thank you in advance for your help and assistance!

Hi! Wow thanks for the fast response! biggrin.gif

So if I bought the 2010 Kaspersky US license for 3 PCs, theoretically, I would be able to go to the Japanese site and download the Japanese version of 2009 Kaspersky and be able to use the same "key" as when I bought the 3 licenses?

Also, if I end up buying 1 license now, will I be able to add the additional two licenses to the same user later on?

Thanks so much again the help and assistance! happy.gif

Sorry if i understand you wrong, the US license is not valid for the Japanese version just 2010 and 2009 versions from the country
you bought it !

Also you can not upgrade a 1 user license to a 3 user license later, better buy a 3 user license directly...

Ok! I understand. I guess I was confused because I think the previous poster said that I could use the license despite the different languages. unsure.gif

I am a little surprised to know that the licenses cannot be increased later on. I guess if I get more computers later on, I will have to buy new licenses for them even though I'm the same user. ^^;

Thanks again!

Hi again! I hope this is the last question.

I just want to clarify things since I am getting a little bit of conflicting answers (although I do appreciate the support that I've been given so far!) smile.gif

I plan to buy the US version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 (the standard version seems to allow one license for up to three PCs anyway).

As said before, one of my PCs is running Windows XP in English and the other two are running Windows XP in Japanese. I thought that perhaps the two PCs running Windows XP in Japanese would need the Japanese version of Kaspersky. Originally, I had hoped that even though I bought the US license, since it was allowed on 3 computers, I could just download the Japanese version and use the same "key". Apparently, that might not be the case.

So, if I bought the US license and then buy the Japanese one separately (i.e. having two different licenses), would that cause any conflicting problems with Kaspersky or when I update, since both licenses will be registered to me?

I'm sorry for all these questions. Thank you very much!

Who said it might not be the case? - I was under the impression most licences are international, so work regardless of the language the AV is, as long as the the Kaspersky version is supported by the licence, eg, Kaspersky v2010 licence will work with all v2010s regardless of the language.

No, because Kaspersky looks at the licence number rather than the name of the person.

Hi! Thank you so much for your answers!

I don't know how to use the quote feature yet, but about 4 posts before this, I was told that the license is only valid for the country that you purchased it from. My question might have been confusing, so there might have been some misunderstanding.
^^;

In any case, your answer helped a lot! I am now going through the online purchase process so thank you very much again! smile.gif

P.S. If I find out any new information, I will post here. Thanks again!
