We Are in the process of a Active Directory domain migration and server renames.

We have one Main site in our company with several branch offices.

In the current situation we have 1 master administration server located at the main site and several slave servers linked to it, one for every branch office.
All servers are in one domain wich we are about to rename.
While we are doing a domain migration to a new domain for business reasons.
To make things more simple ;-), read complex, we have decided to rename all servers so that the name is confirm to a certain structure.

Is there anyone who has some experience with either a domain migration or a server rename in combination with Kaspersky Antivirus Software.

What are the steps to follow?
What are the difficulties related to either a domain move or a server rename.
What is best: Move the existing master server to the new domain or set up a new master server in the new domain. (master server is a virtual machine so don't take into count the cost of new hardware)

To make things even more difficult We have a policy set up for all Administration servers wich prevents them from scanning the network and the domains, the only thing their allowed to scan is Active Directory. Off course when moving to another domain the servers in the new domain won't be able to scan the old one and vice versa.

What I'm planning to do is the following:

Many of the slave servers (if not all) will be replaced with new ones.
Because on all clients the network Agent has been installed via Active Directory using group policies, the Agents will be removed and a new one reporting to the new servers will be installed also using GPO.

For the master server I think it will be best to set up a new one in the new domain.
As soon as the clients are in the new domain, I will unlink the slave servers from the old one and link them to the new Master Server.
The clients will get a new agent installed via GPO.

Any one have any ideas or remarks, please post them.

Kind regards,
