Hi everyone,

My Windows 2008 Standard 64-bit is freezing randomly. It doesnt BSOD.. the computer just become irresponsive.

I notice that during intensive hard disk operations thats when it happens more.

I have the Windows 2008 (as mentioned), Kaspersky Antivirus Enterprise, all applications with latest versions (Including CF7)

When i uninstall Kaspersky, everything runs smoothly.. without any kind of freezes.

Is anyone experiencing the same troubles? I read, somewhere in the forum, about CF8 being at Beta Stage, does anyone knows the fixes including this CF?

Regards

I'm having something similar with W2K3 SP2 Citrix Server, they freeze random.
On the moment I'm trying to create a kernel dump from the frozen system and send it to the developers.
How to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927069

CF8 is released to some testers, but CF8 doesn't fix this problem. CF9 also will not fix this problem...

Hi again,

Thanks for the reply Reload!

Unfortunately this problem persists.

I tried with RC2 and RC3 - Windows Server 6.0 MP4 RC3 build 1164 - (released few days ago).

The server just stops responding to any request.
I noticed that RAID 10 volume gets broken and needs to be reconstructed everytime this happens...

I'll try to do a kernel dump. Can you tell me how may i send it to developers?

Hi,

I can say that Kaspersky Antivirus or Windows Servers in Version 6.0.3.837 doesn´t work correctly with Windows Server 2008 64Bit.
The problem seems to be, that the avp32.exe process starts again and again and again, till the whole main memory is in usage.
I had this problem this weekend.
The only fix is to uninstall Kaspersky.

It´s a little bit spooky, cause Kaspersky says that it should work with this OS.

Kind regards

Kaspersky AV for File Server was released before Windows 2008.

You can get all information by reading the sytem requirements.

The comming version Kaspersky AV for file server version 6 MP4 will support Windows2008 too.

Personal recomendation: Before install "anything", always read the system requirements and the manual.

Hi,

Thanks for replies.

In fact i was not talking about 6.0.3.837. At first i had Enterprise Edition of Kaspersky, and its with this versions i had problems.

Then i tried RC2 and RC3 of Windows Server because its supposed to support Windows 2008.

As i said in second post i tried Windows Server 6.0 MP4 RC3 build 1164. With this version i had no " avp32.exe process starts again and again and again".

Helmut
You are right, but Haferbrei mixed his problem wiht yours.
