The list of the applications seems to be according to when the application was installed. I've just found out that a search exists within the application list which is cool but how about also incorporating the following:

Click on the process list/ application list and it gives an alphabetical list within the various groupings like trusted, restricted, blocked etc. Click on process list/ application list it gives a fully alphabetical list irrespective of groupings, clicking once again returns to the sort by installation date.

Another thing I'd love to see is the ability to make a program trusted but with no internet access. I really don't like programs going out on the net for no reason. Fair enough if it's checking for updates but Excel and Word don't need to be doing this, nor a good proportion of programs I install.

cheers

edit, a third suggestion in my two suggestion list would be to have a recaptcha type thingie when you turn off KIS or try to uninstall. The type of thing that shows you a .jpg of some random letters and you have to type them in.

1) Search is already available hit Ctrl+F in a window
2) You can switch off Internet access in Firewall tab already
3) Only a user with Administrator rights is able to stop the protection driver (besides users notice really quickly if a malicious program damaged Kaspersky)

Already possible in v2010...
My Security Zone - applications - all (in dropdown list)...
Status column (expandable) shows default grouping and current grouping.
Application column (expandable) shows all the other information... file names, description, folder/location, vendor, filesize, data created and date modified, each of which you can arrange in order (by name or date)

thanks guys for the replies.

Yup, I saw the Ctrl F, and even the search window in the top right. Am loving that smile.gif
Have followed your advice dawgg, thx or that. Funnily enough practically everything sorts except for a few programs like iReboot or "processcoordinationserver" from Adobe. They come after widows or Xobni blink.gif

About stopping internet access. Re-reading what I wrote I didn't make myself clear (all my fault sry). I'm talking about when you install a program or run for the first time KIS can ask you if this is should be allowed, allowed once or make trusted. I'd love an option to be able to say make it trusted but give no net access or ask me first before going on the net. I appreciate I can go afterwards and block net access, or turn off the net during install and change later but it would be just something neat to have the option. (As for using the firewall I have already posted elsewhere that mine is in Chinese!!)
Another example would be Mahjong, one of the default games on Vista. There is no reason for it to be given net access, there is no online option for the game but because it is trusted KIS defaults to giving it internet access. The same is true for Nero (I use mediamonkey for sorting my music) or BackUpFox or QuickPar. All programs I trust but as far as I'm concerned never need to go on the net. So I trust them I just don't want them using up my bandwidth ever.
I hope I made myself a bit clearer about that.

As for the recaptcha thingie, it's just something I came across when I was using A Squared, thought it was a neat idea.

again cheers for the responses. about to start my 2nd year of KIS so you guys must be doing something right. b_punk.gif

The point here is that applications that are legidimate should not be restricted. But first they must be classified when launched. I dont think it is possible to do it automatically. Although you can edit default classification permissions.

yeah, I see what you are saying. If I trust the software, then I trust it. It's just I'm not very trusting lol.

again thanks for your responses. smile.gif

There is an advanced guide at the top of the Home User Section. I highly recommend reading it.
