Full Version: Problem wiht Brother scanner

I recently installed a Brother all-in-one (printer, fax, copier, scanner) and it seems that KAV is causing the scanner on the machine to not work. It works for awhile but it seems that KAV may be killing the drivers for the scanner and I have to re-load the Brother program to get the scanner to work again. I don't have the same problem with an older Brother all-in-one, which connected quite easily and occasionally goes offline, but never do I have to reload the software for it to get it up and running again. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

I have KAV version 8.0.0.454 (a.c.d.e.) installed. I am running Windows XP Pro.
I followed Ghadi's advice (on post after yours) but removing the NDIS Filter has not fixed the problem.

I tried to move the executable files from the Brother scanner to the trusted zone, but the problem still persists.

I have previously installed another Brother scanner without any significant problems on a similar computer, running KAV 7.0.1.325 c.d.e.

So, I am baffled, and so is Brother support, though they seem to think that the KAV is messing with the scanner drivers and deleting them from the registry.

Do you require further information?

Thanks in advance.
