Hello,

We have a general problem on all of our XP workstations which are in a AD network with kapeski running on all the file and other servers.

Saving a .doc of 400KB on a networkdrive with kapersky active takes 15sec.
Saving the same .doc when the services of kasp on that server are disables takes 1 second.

We got several user complaints about performance.

Is this a known issue?
Who had already this problem before?

Thanks in advance...

No reaction at all on my posting.
Are we really the only one having this problems?
Imagine 1000 users that are working on a networkshare and they all have to wait 15 seconds or more to save a doc. file, wether it's office 2000 of 2003. It's a loth of lost time and stress.
We only has the problem om servers where Kasp is installed.

Hi rolleyes.gif

Just disable the Realtime-Scan for 'Network-Drives' on Workstations and File-server to get more performance!
Aslo you can disable the Windows 'SystemRecovery' for all drives to get more speed and 3rd step is to install XP-AntiSpy to disable e.g. writing of Windows Loffiles etc. to geet even more speed wink.gif

Hey everyone.. i just joined the forum and i managed various companies and thier computer systems. I had to remove KAV/KIS from thier systems (in a network environment) because i was experiencing the same issue with saving word documents. I was hoping to get some answers here but i will do my own troubleshooting. If i find an answer separate from just uninstalling it from the system or what was previously mentioned i will report it here.

Well the best solution (work around) that i have found that seems to do the trick is to add MS Word to your Trusted zone (settings...protection...trusted zone...add...Browse....application). i only have "do not control application activity" selected and i works great in terms of preventing slow saves and activites with word. My next task will be to figure out the the implications of performing the above task (i.e. what security risk have i opened my system to by choosing the above option(s)). If some one know the answers i am all ears. Until next time, i will report my findings once i have determnined itz cause . God Bless
