Hello All,

I have a need to "Scan" a workstation using a specific domain admin account and password. Is there a way to do this through the Admin Kit 6.0 with a policy?

I know it can be done throught the local settings, but that has caused me much grief. When I create my "local" settings with my workstaion, everything works on my workstaion. If I save the settings and load that file on another workstation, when I try to scan, I get a failure with a "incorrect user name or password" message.

The domain account I am using to scan, is a workstaion admin and can login to the workstaion and has all of the appropriate rights.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Ron.....

Hello,

Yes you can do that using Admin Kit 6.0 but this setting is not in the policy but in the properties of the scan task.

Is there a way to set the "scan task properties" for a group of machines without having to change the settings individually for each workstation?

Thanks,

Tasks are created for a specific logical group (group task) or for a list of specific hosts (global task) so in all cases you don't have to change this setting on each workstation, that's the main point of using Administration Kit.

Thanks much!

I think it is going to work. I'll experiment today.
