Hello,
My concern is an enormous (1.6Go) size of the fidbox.dat file on my 3 windows 2000 servers running Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers MP2.
As this file is hidden and protected by KAV it cannot be deleted, so my question are:
- How to configure KAV to avoid this file being bigger and bigger
- How to delete the file as tools described are only for the Enterprise edition of KAV 6.0
Thanks in advance
Pierre
You need indeed delete the file...
Remember that there is a small bug within the deinstaller and that the fidbox.dat file isn't deleted during uninstall...
You can also try attached "fidbox resetter" -- sorry for inconvenience

As said, this is NOT the ENTERPRISE version, so this is NOT working
Thanks

Hello,
Do you know any confuguration step to avoid this ?
Thanks for your post
Pierre
Deactivate self-defense in the settings of the Workstations or Fileserver. Then delete the file manually.
At the moment, there's no setting to avoid growing of the file. Will be implemented in MP4 for Workstation.

Do not forget to activate self defense afterwards.
At 20th of July the beta for MP4 will be public... stay tuned.

Hello, I am not running KAV at all, but am running ZoneAlarm. I have the ever growing fidbox issue and although I have run the fbreset app mentioned above, I still am unable to get rid of that file.
Would appreciate any help/feedback. Thanks
