Hello,
Inspite of so many problems I saw on the forum(along with my problem discussed here ) about version 2010, I decided to give it a try.
But its just in middle of good and bad.
Things I think should be improved or rethinked over are-
1. Applications are un-categorized, all are mixed up like Trusted+Custom are in some list. It take some time to figure whats where...
2. Rootkit scan starts everytime I start my computer, which takes up resources.
3. Updates are slow as well as bigger(500KB ~ 1MB) in size.
4. avp.exe randomly starts using 100% CPU, the only solution is to exit it and reenable.
5. Graphical User Interface is good but settings are too confusing.
to name a few......
Overall I think its not as good as speculated(Its my personal opinion, though many of us will agree with me).
Developers may be trying hard to increase its detection rate to the maximum and they have succeeded too but with that they seems to be ignoring user friendliness.
I always use to laugh when I saw people saying you have to be a real techno-savvy to use v8 but this time, sadly, I'll say it too, yes you need to be a techno-savvy to use v2010.
I have seen(but not used) version 6, and I do not remember much about it,and I used 7, 8 and now 9, the only balanced version I found was 7, undoubtedly. It had user friendliness as well as good detection but unfortunately as for version 6 its support is going to end soon.
Its clear now "The New is Not Always good".
Although I am going to use 2010 for few days, but I am going back to 7 or 8 until some major improvements are made.
Suggestions, views and criticism are welcome.
warm regards - AbsM
(With such things happening(not particular to Kaspersky) I am being more inclined towards OSS, and I think the day will come soon when my signature will read only Linux...(though I'll be on forum to help others)... )
