Yesterday i began learning how to use Kaspersky so we can get ready to remove Sophos and replace it with kaspersky over out entire network. I have installed it on one server as a test to see how it performs. The sophos removal and kaspersky installation was fine but the initial first scan is rediculously slow. It has only done 1250 files overnight scanning a 75gb that has 26.2gb free. Also my workstation has been scanning a 455gb that has 300gb free for 18hours and hasnt finished either. Its done 13833 files so far. I have policy settings made to scan progs & docs by content and have smart mode enabled. IChecker & ISwift are also enabled.

The server i am using seems to be acting strange in the way that all i can do is open the Kaspersky softwares main window. I cannot do anything else in the software or even close it! Its not even using any server CPU so im really confused as to whats going on.

Any help give will be greatly appreciated!

1. First scan can be long, especially if you have a lot of compound files.
2. Do you connect to server via RDP? Then you can manage KAV only with option "Compatibility mode fpr ptograms using self-protection methods" (Settings--Service). But most recommended is management via AdminKit.
