I've got a group in my admin kit for a remote office, with around 8 PC's.

I was going through some documentation, and it seems that rather than roll out a slave server for this low number of machines, that 'updating agents' may be better. I'm just a little confused about how to go about it. It mentions adding an update agent, but not in any depth.

I already have Workstation 6 running on one of them and it seems to be fine. If I right click on the folder containing these 8 PC's, I get the updating agents tab.

Do I simply add the PC it's already installed on to the updating agents tab? and
Does it matter that the PC I want to use as the updating agent is in the actual group where i'm adding it as the updating agent.
Do I need to add it as an updating source on the workstations when I've installed it?

I hope this FAQ helps for understanding.

My personel opinion is to install a slave server in the remote office.

Thanks Helmut, i'll takek a look at that.

We have another remote office with only 4 computers in it too.
I'd need to install the admin kit on another computer in the remote offices though, as they only have one Win 2003 R2 domain controller/file server and I don't want to install it on there.
