Full Version: KMS8 (Win6.1) SMS-Find Query [CDMA]

I'm testing with KMS8 for Windows Mobile Pro 6.1.
Does it matter that the phone is not a GSM phone?
I was hoping the GSM specific (SIM related)
features could just be ignored for a CDMA phone.
I was able to install 8 (replacing 7 that was installed).
I activated for trial. I then set a code, in the anti-theft module.
and sent a text SMS from another cell to my phone as a test.
I expected to receive an email at the registered address with
co-ords where GPS placed the phone. The text was sent
successfully, but I never got a reply email at my email address.
I used a hotmail email address, both phones are USA CDMA
postpaid, both are different carriers. Where I am, I'm currently roaming
(on network) if that matters. The target (where the trial software
is installed, is an HTC Touch Pro for Alltel, Windows Mobile Pro 6.1,
OEM ROM, using SPB Mobile Shell 3 vs TouchFlo3D (HTC))[in case
its some sort of software clash], in case there is a carrier issue,
the SMS was sent from a Verizon Wireless dumb (not smart / not feature)
phone. I used the format Find:12345678 (where 12345678 is the code).
What am I doing wrong? dash1.gif

Thanks
Viktor
E-mail notifications are for SIM-Watch only.

So none of the anti-theft support works in CDMA phones?

Is there a technological reason not to support SMS/GPS
based Find/Lock/Clear for CDMA? That has nothing to
do with a SIM card.

Anti-theft works in CDMA phones, check SMS-Block, SMS-Clean and SMS-Find

Ok -- I tried to send a "formated" msg to locate the smartphone
from a another carriers dumb (not smart not feature) phone
as I said in the thread starter...

Find:12345678

where 12345678 is the code number assigned when setting up
anti-theft. I expected an email from your server giving me the
GPS lat/long to look up in a web browser.

You originally said that was not supported, (email notification
of where the Find finds the phone via GPS location; that that
was only done for SIM-Change).

What is supposed to happen after I send the coded SMS
from a borrowed phone? If it doesn't send a notification
email how does it tell me of the location of the found
phone's lat/long for location finding?

I sent a new test SMS same format -- to my phone SMS;
SMS app said it was sent correctly.

I also sent normal SMS msgs to the same phone to
make sure SMS was working properly.

nornal test were received fine.
the second SMS-Find test message
was not shown as a received SMS
so I thought it was 'eaten' by KMS8.

Waiting for the email with lat/long co-ords
of where GPS thinks my phone is.

What is the usual expected wait time for
the email? mins, hours?

Thanks
