Full Version: Some small issues with the Parser

During the process of translating the Parser I noticed a few small things:

1) I wonder whether the servers listed under "DNS server search order" should have flags indicating their location (like shown on the screenshot in the walkthrough). For me this looks differently:
DNS server search order: 85.255.122.19||85.255.122.120
(link to report: http://www.getsysteminfo.com/read.php?file...8f764e593aedfc)

2) Compared to the other images it seems that the one for "Yellow code" (g_06_tx_alert_3.gif) seems to be of lower quality. The background is white instead of transparent.

3) I am not really sure what the "recent" tab is exactly supposed to show. Therefore I have some problems finding a good name for it. Also it is the only tab with a name that starts with a lower case letter.

4) Unfortunately there are some strings in the Parser that doesn't seem to be translatable (e.g. on the tabs History/My reports/My rankings). As some of them show up on the screenshots in the walkthrough it would be great if we could translate them before the translated versions of the walktrough are integrated into the Parser.

Hi JanRei !

1) so I add this due to Kido (aka Conflicker) which usually replaces DNS for computer. This is important for Technical Supporters.
I just fixed the bug for flags ... actually I was the only one allowed to see flags... now everybody can smile.gif

2) You're probably right. I remember made this myself very quickly smile.gif

3) Recent should show elements where modification date is lower than a week... but it's not working good ... it's on my bug list.

4) I see ... I'll try to find some time to do this this week. I'll keep you posted.
JanRei
Thank you for the answers. For the walkthrough I have now made screenshots with "faked" translations - so you don't need to hurry.

By the way, regarding the IPs set as DNS servers: how about adding a link to the result of WHOIS search?

I hope I can continue to post some minor issues with the Parser here:
- "Your account has been successfully created"
- "Your account has been successfully updated"
- "DNS enabled for WINS resolution"
- "Drivers seem to be up to date"
- "login must be longer than 3 characters"
- "password must be different from login"
- "Your access has been sent by email"
- Also the Parser can't distinguish between "vote" and "votes", so on popups you can sometimes see "1 votes".

Are there some problems with the server? I missed for example ~3000 points (it´s not really important) and after 5 Mins i´m logged out. Or have you changed the ratings?
Kamille
Hi Jowi,

as far as I remember I didn't changed anything.

I think that Caos had the same issue (maybe at the same time).

At this time, I thought that "GSI Bot" increased its previous rate (from less than 10) to 10 on some files ... And if the average rate of a file is now 10, it will remove the XP you won...
But 3000 means lots of files so this theory seems not good.

I'll try to find out the reason (as you saw my visits to the forum is no more regular at this period due to lack of time sad.gif so I can't promise "when" ... ).

I hope can re-use this topic for mentioning some display issues of the parser - mostly encountered with Opera 10.00.

- The parser page is often a few pixels to wide resulting in a horizontal scrollbar. This seems to be the only issue I have seen so far that happens also with Firefox.
- Above all pages of the parser there is a white line. Sometimes it disappears and reappears when hovering certain elements.
- While viewing a report Opera does not show the currently selected language (in drop down menu).
- Opera does not show the drop down menu for switching the language/skin, after clicking on it nothing happens. With the current snapshot for version 10.10 (build 1792) the menu is shown. The menu does not quite look as good in Firefox though, but this not important.

This is how it looks like in the snapshot:

By the way, the Opera snapshot is detected as not recommended browser:

As I think you identify browsers by user agent string:
Opera 10.00 Final: Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 5.1; U; de) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.00
Opera 10.00 Snapshot: Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.1; U; de) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.10

This issue still happens - at least with current versions of Opera (release and snapshot). It would be great if a solution could be found because the page jumping up and down is annoying.

Also, please do not any more elements to top bar. The space is already very limited there:

And by the way, I am looking for a way to change the email address associated with the account. Maybe I am missing something...

Hi,

Next version of GSI Parser (3.0) will be different on top and more space will be available.

Also, you're right. It's not possible actually to change email adress... THis is somehting I have to do also.
If you want to change it, send me your new one by PM and I'll updated it manually.
