Full Version: Email scanning stuck in loop?

Hi,

I recently renewed my license of Kaspersky 6.0. I have Windows XP SP3.0 and am running Outook 2007. For some reason, Kaspersky is scanning the same 300 email messages in outlook every two or three seconds. I can tell because the email scanning counter keeps increasing, and the same messages keep appearing in the details window. These messages do not appear to have anything in common and are spread out over a wide range of time. This causes my cpu usage to spike to 50% each time.

Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it?

Thanks.

Interestingly, I just disabled the email scanning feature, but the cpu spikes have not stopped. Could this be a bug with outlook instead? (I have set outlook to send/receive every 30 minutes). With email scanning enabled in Kaspersky, the email scanner runs in synch with the cpu spikes, but it does not appear to be the cause of it now.

Well, I suppose that KAV is not a reason of your problem. To verify it, just try to turn it off.

Yes, it definitely looks like this is an issue with Outlook not Kaspersky. Thanks for the reply.
