How do I disable this "feature"?

Downloading of a large files makes the download window hanging for ages.

Thanks Louis Höfler.

Hello Louis,
well, you have two RTP tasks in charge to scan those files: Web Anti-Virus and File Anti-Virus. You can start to fine tune the first one, then to play with the second... you have several settings expecially with File Anti-Virus.
If you're thinking to completely stop RTP task, pls, do not stop at least File Anti-Virus!

I already disabled scanning of archives, but that option made no difference.
In web-antivirus I only can add trusted sites, but i can't set any options to disable archive checks.

Thanks Louis Höfler.

Try to set stream scan instead of buffering scan in WebAV.

Try to set stream scan instead of buffering scan in WebAV.

But this option is not as effective as the buffered scan.
Well I did search (again) on my own and found
"Defining the types of objects to be scanned" in the help with many other topics listed.
Somehow it is possible to scan by extension, so it should be possible to simply disable .zip extensions (and only .zip, .rar, ...). But somehow i did not find out how to define my own file list neither was I able to define a exlcusion file list.
Call me blind but I pressed almost any button in the config and found nothing.

Greets Louis Höfler.

Hello Louis,
of course is not effective as the default setting...but you said first that you wanna disable scan of downloaded files...so, why you would accept to not scan files while you wouldn't lower the Web AV security level? unsure.gif
More, which kind of file do you wanna skip from being scanned?
You may add them to exclusion mask area: you can add in this format "*.yourextension" and you can mask for all the RTP tasks (or for File and Web AV only)

Well if it's possible to just disable the scan of archives it would be better than do disable scanning at all.
Where to set the filemask?
I searched the help for filemask but found nothing.

Thanks Louis.

You'll find it in the settings -> protection -> trusted zone -> Exclusion Rules (Page 72 in the manual: http://downloads.kaspersky-labs.com/docs/e...0_winwksen.pdf).
