We are about to purchase Work Space Security for 50 workstations, however, I had a question, answered by my reseller, which I thought a bit odd..

Q
If we increase the number of PCs to say 55 what happens with the 50 user licence we have?

A
You purchase more licences as you need them, you can purchase them individually. The licence is backdated, so if you took out a one year subscription today and added another licence 11 months on then you pay the same price but only get 1 years protection.

I did wonder how the timing of this would all work, is this really the case, this seems a little un fair no?! - In effect it's saying ~£15 could get you as much as 1 year's protection or as little as 1 day (if you were really dumb).

Can anyone confirm?!!

Hi Rob,
Kaspersky licensing is not a universal law and may change from country to country.
Here in Italy we may issue associated orders (your case, if i'm not wrong: additional licenses bought during subscription period) in the following ways:

- full subscritpion period (12, 24 or 36 months): their expiration date differs from the previous one and these licenses cost (each) accordingly to price list step reached thanks to this new purchase;
- custom expiration date: their exp date is the same (99% of customers chooses this option) and customer uses to pay for the exact number of days left to reach that exp time.

That certainly sounds more like what I was expecting, my reseller, here in the UK, tells me otherwise though :/

I guess we will find out for certain when we purchase more licences when the current plan is already in action - I suppose it's not a biggie if we just buy a few more - if we were going to get like 20 or something then a new agreement may make more sense.

Thansk for the reply!
