Full Version: Cannot get updates from Kaspersky servers

I've just noticed that my server has not been able to download updates from the Kaspersky servers since May 8! On May 8, 9, and 10 the result was "Transport level error...", then every day since then the error is, "Authentication failed...". Please see the attached screenshot for the full error messages.

Can you tell me how I can fix this?

Thanks!

I suppose, you should check your proxy authorization settings wink.gif

This server is not connected via a proxy. It's connected to the firewall/router and the only outbound ports that are blocked are:

- 25 (TCP)
- 514 (TCP+UDP)
- 110 (TCP)
- 7070 (TCP)

Hello,

Your global update task may be configured to use a proxy server, check in the properties of this task and remove this setting.
Then run the task once again. If it does not help, delete the task and create a new one.

I just checked the task's settings and it is not set to use a proxy: in "LAN Settings", the proxy server box is not checked. On the "Account" tab it is set to use the default account. I created a new update task with the default settings but that didn't work either.

I checked the Admin Kit server's event log and there several events like this:

These were logged on May 10 and May 11. A similar set of events were logged on March 12. The dates don't exactly match up but I'm wondering if these events are related. What do you think?

What SQL are you using (MySQL or MSSQL) and in which version?
hux
I'm using MS SQL Server 2008 Express with version 6.0.1710 of the Kaspersky Admin Kit, running on Windows Server 2003.

Hello,

Read this FAQ and follow recommendations from step n°2.
How to get tracing file of the update process is described on this article.
hux
Thanks for the links!

I've completed all the steps in the first link, but the problem is still present. Something else I have noticed: I access the Admin Kit remotely (using a computer in the same building on the same network segment) and before this problem started the connection was always quick and responsive. Now, however, the application hangs regularly, sometimes for a minute or more. This is not a network congestion problem as non-Admin Kit communication to this server is fine. Also, if I manually start the update task, CPU usage on that server jumps to 100% while the task is running. Then, when the task stops with the error saying that it couldn't complete, CPU usage returns to normal levels.

My next step is to enable tracing and then hopefully we'll be able to figure this out.
